I originally started taking Japanese this semester because I absolutely refused to take another romance language, but now I’m considering minoring in the language. I find Japanese absolutely fascinating, and while yes it is very difficult to remember everything all the time (especially when you’re trying to learn it as fast as we are), I don’t like it any less. I came into this class with some understanding of Japanese culture and society but none of the language and I finish the semester having gained knowledge about both but also some new friends.
